A’ja Wilson: Las Vegas Aces All-Time Leading Scorer

A’ja Wilson had 28 points and 10 rebounds in a 104-85 win over the Dallas Wings. She is now officially the all-time leading scorer in the history of the Utah Starzz, San Antonio Stars, and Las Vegas Aces with 4301 career points and counting. She passed the record previously held by Sophia Young-Malcolm. This seemed like an inevitable accomplishment but the speed at which she did it was extremely impressive. It only took her 6 and a half seasons and she has plenty of time to add even more distance between her and second place.

Wilson was drafted in 2018 with the 1st pick and immediately got to scoring. She finished her rookie campaign with the third-highest points per game average. Since then Wilson has become the best scorer in the WNBA. She is currently averaging the most points in the league and also in her career with 27 points per game. Wilson is scoring over 5 points more per game than her next-best season. Her teammates understand better than anyone how much of an impact that she makes on the court. The Aces couldn’t wait to celebrate with her, check out the celebration in the locker room.

A’ja Wilson is quite simply the best player in the world. It’s great that she is being recognized for all of the work that she’s put in. Her mid-range jump shooting and ability to get to the rim separate her from the rest of the league and she often looks unstoppable. On top of that, she is a great person and teammate. She is deserving of all of the accolades and being the all-time leading scorer in her team’s history is going to be one of many accomplishments. We should appreciate the greatness that we get to watch. Her coach Becky Hammon does a good job of describing Wilson.
