Team USA Forward Napheesa Collier exited the game in the 3rd quarter after injuring her left foot with 2:36 left in the 3rd quarter. The Lynx had a 10-point lead with 8:10 left in the 3rd quarter quickly wiped away without their superstar. The Lynx haven’t provided a detailed update but described the injury as a sore left foot. During today’s game against the Mystics, the commentators said that Collier is dealing with Planter Fasciitis. She has been dealing with this since she attended the University of Connecticut in college.

Napheesa Collier is averaging 20 points (4th most in the WNBA), 10.2 rebounds (4th most in the WNBA), and 2.2 steals per game (3rd most in the WNBA). The star forward is also recording career highs in rebounds, steals, and blocks. She is taking part in this year’s All-Star Game along with fellow teammate Kayla McBride on July 20th as a member of Team USA. Collier will play her first game in the 2024 Olympics on July 29th against Japan. A’ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, and Jewell Loyd are some of her notable teammates on the Olympic roster.

It remains unclear when Napheesa Collier will be back but the entire WNBA community is wishing her a speedy recovery. If she’s to potentially miss the Olympics, Team USA will have to quickly find a replacement. It will be interesting to see who steps up for the Lynx in her absence. The veteran Courtney Williams and All-Star Kayla McBride are the likely candidates. There will be an update about her injury in the WNBA News Category when we know more.
