She’s done it again. After receiving the WNBA Player of the Day award two days ago for her huge game against the Wings, Loyd gets the award again for the same reason. She had 26 points in 25 minutes as the Storm cruised past the Wings again 95-71. Loyd scored a combined 56 points in the back-to-back games against the Wings.
She was much more efficient this go around, shooting 57% from the field. Loyd was able to get to the line a lot, going 7/8 from the free-throw line. However, the Wings didn’t allow her to get close to the 17 free throw attempts she had against them last game. Loyd is heating up right before the all-star break and the Storm have won 5 in a row.
