Jackie Young led the Aces with 32 points and 4 rebounds on 11/19 shooting in their 94-83 win over the Seattle Storm. This offensive explosion came after being held to just 3 points in the previous matchup against the Storm. With A’ja Wilson starting the game slowly, Young stepped up, dropping 19 points in the first half and giving the Aces a 15 point lead at half time. With the WNBA world focused on the return of Chelsea Gray, Jackie Young put on a show and wasn’t just the leading scorer of the game but across the WNBA today. You can check out Young’s highlights from today’s game here:
Expect to see the best version of Jackie Young for the remainder of the season. Chelsea Gray’s return to the starting lineup will allow Young to thrive off of the ball as she no longer has to carry so much of the playmaking burden. She can now focus on the strongest areas of her game and will need to continue her star play as the Aces look to improve upon their lackluster 7-6 record. As mentioned by a member of the popular basketball podcast, Steve Jones Jr. of The Dunker’s Spot, the Aces are 7-1 when Jackie Young scores more than 15 points. With the Aces fully healthy and Jackie Young playing at such a high level all signs point towards the Aces having a dominant finish to the season.
